Magnetic Flux Emergence and Associated Eruptions in the Sun
Vasilis Archontis (Mathematical Institute, St. Andrews University, UK)
Abstract. The emergence of magnetic flux from the interior of the Sun is commonly associated with many dynamic phenomena that occur at various atmospheric heights. At the surface of the Sun, EMF is usually followed by the gradual build up of active regions and it is often linked to the onset of jets, flares and eruptions. We present an overview of the nature of these dynamic events, which originate from emerging flux regions.
